Here at Rock Ranch the veteran and first responder programs help to create bonds between those who share similar challenges in life. Whether difficulties result from anxiety, a need for anger management, addictions, or other life stressors. Here at Rock Ranch, we gather individuals whose sufferings are in some way comparable to breaking free of personal hurdles that can come in serving on the front-line and line of duty. In groups, we collaborate with horses to interact with each other through instinct, intuition, and patience. We explore how we can use healthy coping mechanisms to improve and live life more productively with social interaction. Our guests will learn coordination and cooperation, as well as structure and routine, with our horses and team of well-rounded equestrians. We will help optimize motivation and increase self-esteem by learning to channel anxious behavior and achieve a sense of success. The goal is to assist our guests maximize attention span and self-confidence through the healing benefits of our peaceful four-legged friends to form an unbelievable bond.

Through sequencing and planning, the instructors will implement “ground lessons” in which the participant will learn how to collaborate with their horse by leading, interacting, and learning the behavior of our animals in order to give them a different perspective than the saddle to make it a more peaceful and relaxing experience for everyone.

After completing the groundwork our guests will have the opportunity to gain the experience and confidence to mount and ride one of our furry friends with riding lessons. Our team is geared to meet specific riding and/or social objectives. The primary focus of riding is to teach horsemanship and riding skills that build toward independence both in and out of the arena. These lessons translate to the progress of the participant’s riding skills. Our riding lessons can be therapeutic both mentally and physically. The benefits include the improvement of balance, posture, strengthening weak muscles and slow down degeneration. The lessons given by our Rock Ranch team will help relax tight muscles which will future benefit the physical and mental health of the guest. The lessons can help refine and improve minimal to gross motor skills by utilizing their hand-eye coordination with the help of these animals.

We welcome Veteran Groups, Military Families, Children, Trauma Survivors, First Responders, Front-Line Workers.
